Enjoying Life, Being Grateful

I’m really trying my hardest to stop my ridiculous complaining. I’ve been trying to sit back and enjoy life… and it’s working! Since quitting facebook, I feel more alive. I am not comparing my life or family or whatever else to other people because I no longer am stalking those people. haha

Here is a little video that I took the other day. Feels so typical European, doesn’t it?

Justin and I slept through church this last Sunday. It would only have been our second week in a row to go to Saint George’s, so I guess we aren’t off to a good start! It ended up being such a pleasant day though. We went for a walk around the neighborhood and then later met up with our good friends who are leaving town for a month! A lot of Europeans take the whole month of August off. Lucky!!!

Justin and I are trying to enjoy new cultural experiences, so on our Sunday walk, we went and had “Vermut” at a little local place, Casa Paco. I didn’t appreciate the antennas on the little shrimp that came with the drink, so Justin ate that little guy for me. I used to eat them just fine, but I am not big into eating animals these days. The olives were delish, but the kids sort of took over on those and finished them off. What a relaxing day!

My little buster

Then today we went to the local beach here. A bit further away from all the tourists. It probably took us around 15 minutes on our bikes, maybe less. But it was wonderful! So relaxing and the kids had a blast! Cutler is seriously fearless! The waves were crashing into and over him and he was just laughing and running straight for the water every chance he got! I’m so proud of that little guy! Justin and I were talking today how he reminds us of his uncle Nate in his crazy, fearless, and fun loving personality! I spent a lot of time playing with Maisie in the sand, building sand castles and moats. Eventually she left me when she found a friend and I got to spend some relaxing time with Justin while Cutler napped away! It was a wonderful day!

A day at the beach!

Look at this cute family!

Poor little buddy was so exhausted and finally passed out with sand in every crevice on his body.

Jen! I love this post! Seems like God has hold of you ever since you gave up the big FB addiction :). Very cool the way He speaks to you about complaining, burns :), etc. The even more cool thing is that your writing brings convictions to other’s people’s lives….like mine. Thanks for so freely sharing in your blog. I learn something every time. I love you!!!!
