Baby Wise?
Hey Everyone! My last post was about Maisie’s schedule and I got some great feedback! I have actually talked to lots of people and about 99 percent of people have recommended the Baby Wise approach. I have read the book (twice) and started feeling guilty for not doing things the way they had said. So, I decided to do a bit of research on Baby Wise, as well as other methods and was pretty surprised in what I found. Here is a link to a super interesting article on Baby Wise. On a side note, everyone who has recommended this book has also said not to follow it exactly as it is pretty strict.
Anyways, I just thought I would share this article with you all! Pretty interesting stuff! In the meantime, I think we are learning what is right for us and Maisie. Thank you to everyone who commented and feel free to continue sharing your thoughts and ideas!
By the way, Maisie has done GREAT the last couple days. I think we took the expectations off of her and ourselves and have just relaxed a bit. We have just cuddled her during her fussy time and she has gone right to sleep!
Thanks again for all the advice!
hi jen
no one commented to support your concerns about the babywise stuff. let me just say that i am violently opposed to much of what they say. call me a softy but i think babies need something very diffferent than what i’ve seen them put forth. as my kids begin to hit their 20’s (can you believe my little boy is about to turn 20!) i still believe that my demand feeding all those years ago was a good thing.
We used Babywise and regretted it. I know lots of mamas who used BW with “flexibility and common sense” and still had problems with it.
