Update on apartment and hospital
So today was pretty much a wonderful day! Justin and I woke up early to sign all our papers on our new apartment, wrote huge checks, and then in return, we got our keys! It is now officially ours! Well, it is officially rented by us anyways! We are so excited! Here are a couple pictures. I picked these two pictures to show because they show two of my favorite things in the apartment! The arched windows and then the HUGE bathroom. Ok, maybe this isn’t huge for you Americans, but this is quiet monstrous for a Parisian apartment. I LOVE that it has a bathtub!!!
This picture is looking into the living room from the entry way.
Our bathtub!!!
After we got our keys, Justin and I went to lunch together and during lunch, we received a phone call from the hospital (right next door to our new apartment) saying that there is a great chance that we got in. In case you didn’t know, my last doctor appointment at the British hospital didn’t go too well and we decided we would look for another possibility (which is nearly impossible this late in pregnancy). When we found out we got the apartment, we decided to try to get into the hospital right next door, which is very well known in Paris for how great it is, and they ended up calling today to get us in for an appointment!
So we went for our appointment and everyone was extremely nice! They gave us a tour of building and delivery rooms and answered all the questions we had! This is very unlike our experience at the British hospital, so we were ecstatic! Also, a huge plus is that it is half the price of the British hospital AND they encourage and allow natural births, not to say it will be natural, but it is nice to know I have the option! It is all around a better place for me to deliver. We have to wait to hear back from our insurance company and see if this new hospital approves our insurance, and if they do, we are set!
It was such a fun day with getting our keys to our new apartment and then the possibility of this new hospital that is right next door! Justin and I wouldn’t even have to worry about a stroller, sling, or whatever else to carry the baby home in since we would live just one door down! YAY!
It looks FAB – light and bright and quelle salle de bain! (Formidable, mes braves – allez!)So pleased for you: now go conquer/charm the hospital next door: sounds v promising…
That looks great! Can’t wait to see it in person!!!!
by the way…where is the shower curtain? It doesn’t even look like there is a rod for one. Do you have to shower with the water spraying everywhere??? Just wondering. OH YEAH! Your bathroom is an actual bathroom and not a toilet room…or a shower room. Cool…except when you are trying to take a shower and Justin needs to let the boys off at the pool. That is NOT good.
oh..and another thing. You are gonna need some curtains on that bathroom window before I get there. No little peeping Jacques looking at my deflated boobies. I see how those french men can see right in.
Sounds like you had a GREAT day….so happy for you guys after all the hard work of lookng for a place. Enjoy the blessing!
love Sophie
Love the pictures! This is an awesome bathroom. Bob and Kendall don’t have a shower curtain either. What’s up with that? You’ll have to put everything away on the counter! We are so happy for you and how God is richly blessing your lives.
That apartment looks incredible! What a beautiful place! Thanks for the pics!!
