A Very Random Blog of My Day

Tonight was a fun night.  My sister (Amy) had long ago sent a package filled with Mexican food that I can make over here.  Tonight I finally made enchiladas with the enchilada sauce from Trader Joes!  YUM!  Justin and I invited over a few friends and had yummy Mexican food with homemade guacamole (that Justin made)!  It was so fun.

One of the friends that came over was Ursula.  I love her.  Ursula is so sweet, so stylish, such a great cook, and always there when you need her.   She is English, although she grew up in France and she has the coolest, most proper English accent!  I just love being around her.  We haven’t seen each other in days as she has been on holiday with family and I have been… well… I don’t know where I have been.  I guess I have been somewhere in a pregnant world of absence, if that even makes sense.   But really, it was great to see her again.  Oh, the other two friends, well we see them often, but of course it is always good to see them too!

Tomorrow is going to be warm, so Justin and I plan on soaking up the sun in Luxembourg Park!  YESSSS!   Oh, by warm I mean 73 degrees.  I would NOT have considered this warm just a year ago, but now I am ecstatic to have such great weather!  Funny how things change.

Speaking of change.  I feel SO back to my old self.  What they say about the second trimester is definitely true!  It is WONDERFUL (minus looking not pregnant, just chubby).  I am having so much fun hanging out with people again and I even worked out today!  Just 20 minutes on the bike at the gym, but it was SO great!

Oh and because I mentioned the gym, I must tell of how excited the lady at the front desk was to hear that I was pregnant!  She yelped (yes, yelped) and congratulated me in French with two kisses (one on each cheek) then went to Justin, calling him "papa" and also giving him the congratulations and kisses.  It is so cool how excited people are here when they find out we are having a baby.  She made sure to tell me to be very careful and to take it easy and that if I needed to she would discontinue my membership and give me the remaining months after the birth.

It is quite amazing what a positive experience you can have in a place once you stop being so negative about it.  I am not saying that it was a blast standing in lines at the supermarket today having people cut in front of me.  I am just choosing to write about and focus on the positives more than the negatives.  I feel more alive and more happy this way!

Time for bed now.  It is too late for me to be up and I have my NEW soft(er) mattress to sleep on!

Hi Jen! I sooo know what you mean about pregnancy. I am at 14 weeks right now and cannot even describe how awesome it is to FINALLY feel back to normal (and be participating in daily life again)! Also know what you mean about feeling fat with no cute pregnant belly yet…just a few more weeks I am sure! Last Friday I took myself on a little “tour” of all the maternity boutiques and stores in Sacramento just to see what is out there. I am not sure what options you have where you are at, but so far I have found that gap.com has the best fitting jeans and pants for me…just thought I’d share. Have a wonderful day!
    =)
