I’m feeling HOT HOT HOT!

I never thought the words would come out of my mouth, but I have to admit it.  I wish it were cooler.  I think I may actually be looking forward to winter.  YIKES!  I know in January I will think back to when these thoughts crossed my mind and think I was crazy for saying them, but for now, it is true.  It is so hot here!  I talk to my friends and family in the states and they are dealing with weather over 100 degrees and here I am at nearly 100 degrees, complaining.  But let me tell you a little difference between heat in Europe and heat in the States.  Two words… air conditioning.  There is none here.  Well, of course there is in the grocery store!  Believe me, I find reason to go there, if of course I can pull my melted body off the chair and brave the heat for a three minute walk to the grocery store!  One other place that I talk fondly of… that’s right…. STARBUCKS!  One more reason to love it.  Of course the one next to my apartment doesn’t have air conditioning, but the others do!  It is glorious!  Again, it isn’t common for me to actually make it out of the apartment to get there, but at least I have the option.  I also have resorted to taking cool showers!  Even in the hottest of heat in Sacramento, I still took hot showers because I loved them so much.  I don’t know if it is my pregnancy that is making me so hot or if I am just plain hot.  I have never been this hot in my life.  For real.  We are talking sweating through skirts, pants, everything.  It is no wonder the metros stink so bad here!  Ok, no excuse in the winter, but in the summer, I will give a bit of extra grace to those stinky pitted French men (and some women).  I will give grace, for I am one of them!  Speaking of me stinking, it is time for another cool shower before I get into bed and sweat again to just wake up needing to take another shower!!!  Goodnight!
