Pregnancy YOGA!?!

I have been wanting to try pregnancy yoga for a LONG TIME now!  Well, only about four months (since I knew I was pregnant).  Today, I was finally able to try it out because we now have a VHS/DVD player.  YAY!  I was so excited to do it!  When the video started I began to laugh a bit and had Justin come in to see the woman with her hair wrapped in a turban type thing and talking so smoothly and calmly.  I have other yoga dvd’s that aren’t quite so "spiritual" so I wasn’t too worried.  I sat in my little crossed legs position ready for the exercise to begin.  The lady began with rubbing our hands together and then repeating different chant type things.  I got scared!  I really did get scared.  Maybe this is me being naive, or maybe it was something evil.  The first chant had something to do with worshiping and bowing down to the strength within us, but it was all in some other language.  It just felt weird to be chanting something in anther language!

I marched the video to the kitchen and closed the door so it wouldn’t escape!  Didn’t you all hear the stories of Ouija boards appearing in different places in the house after someone has thrown it away???  Ok, I heard lots of scary stories when I was younger and now may be a bit paranoid, but I wanted to make sure, so the door was shut!  No worries, it hasn’t appeared anywhere… yet!

It was such a relief to go back to what I am most fond and familiar with, Pilates!  Don’t worry, it was pregnancy pilates and I LOVE IT!  It was a great work out and the baby liked it too because she was kicking like crazy after I was finished!  Or maybe she was mad that I worked out in almost 100 degree weather with no AC in the middle of the day.  I think I may just stick with Pilates until I know for sure what exactly my yoga workout will entail!   Chanting, no.  Stretching and breathing, yes!

What’s funny about doing yoga in such hot weather is that people pay tons of money to do Hot Yoga in yoga studios. Suckers, just move to Paris!

for all those friends of jen’s out there…when she mentions locking the door on the yoga video, it reminds me of a few of her cd’s when she was a teen that affected me the same way! unfortunately (or not, depending on how you look at it) a few of those were ‘accidentally’ snapped in half and had to be thrown away. just didn’t want you to think she was always this holy .
