baby pain
Last night was hideous. I don’t really mind the lack of sleep, but it drives me crazy when Maisie is in pain. I think she may be teething. Before her last feed we laid on my bed and chatted about our day. It was a sweet little time…until she burst out screaming high pitch screams. She refused to eat and would have nothing to do with anything, except the mirror in the bathroom. It is literally the ONLY thing that calmed her down. If I would walk out the bathroom the screams would begin. So I spent about two hours last night in the bathroom in front of the mirror with a crying (on and off) baby. I finally called my mom to pray and called my sister for some practical advice. Maisie finally ate and passed out from the numbness of her gums and the drugs flowing through her blood. While Maisie was finally fast asleep, I laid in bed awake, wondering if the numbing medicine was bad for her gums or if she would somehow have an allergic reaction to the pain reliever we gave her. I worry way too much. I guess this is just the beginning of many sleepless nights.
Oh, how precious is that cry. Hard night, sheesh. I’m so glad you blogged though cuz I was going through withdrawals.

i can only relate times two. there will be many more of these nights,sorry. you can rotate tylenol and motrin every two hours becuase they are different medicines. Tylenol is acetomenaphin and motrin- ibuprofin (antiinflamatory) I know it doesn’t sound good giving your baby this much medicine, but believe me, it saves your sanity and helps the babies relax so they can sleep without pain.
I’m so glad that teeth poke through our gums before our memory develops. I am so glad I don’t have a memory of that kind of pain.
Im sorry but I couldnt help but laugh a little that you put that picture up with this blog it was just funny to me…I am so sorry though teething was the worst with Josiah I remember all too well.
