My Gap
Today I went to the dentist to fix my broken tooth. This is the same broken tooth that broke during my ninth month of pregnancy. So yeah, 19 months later and I am finally getting it fixed!!! My last dentist experience was AWFUL so I was completely nervous going in, but as soon as the dentist walked in the room, I was at peace. He is such a nice guy! He was confident that they could fix my broken tooth (along with some cavities). Ew. He pointed out that I still had all my teeth. My wisdom teeth hadn't been pulled. This led to the fact that my teeth on the bottom could become crowded and that if they did, he could give me Invisilign (or something like that) to fix the teeth on the bottom. He then went on to say that he could also fix the gap I…

I am NOT a farm girl, yet I am living on a farm. A real farm with a barn and goats! My dad always had a farm and would try to talk me into coming out and living on the farm. Yeah, not so appealing. I don't think there is anything wrong with living on a farm if that is your thing, but for me, the negatives outweigh the positives. This farm that we are living on has been the most perfect place for us to live during our transition. We are getting out of our comfort zone, but also finding peace and calm in the nature. It is so drastic from where we moved from. Paris, France to a small city on a farm! Today was a perfect example of why I am not cut out to be a farm girl. This evening Justin and I were hanging out…

I successfully talked Justin into staying one more night in California so that I could have one last lay out day with Bandna and Katie (also only our second lay out day of the whole trip). I LOVE THESE GIRLS!!! They are seriously so thoughtful and encouraging and fun! So here we are! Don’t mind my whiteness. You should have seen me before the two layout sessions! YIKES! And don’t compare me to the Indian girl to my left. That’s just not fair. And don’t compare me to the half Lebanese one to my right! I can’t compare with Middle Eastern roots. As much as I want to be brown, I will always be red. Poop. Oh and yes, I know we have the same sunglasses! We got them in Huntington Beach! Ten bucks! Gotta love the set timer on a camera and Katie running/swimming to make the shot!!!…

Some random pictures, because that’s the kind of friend I am! I love this picture (despite the fact that Maisie’s hair is out of control!!!!) because this is RIGHT after Justin got back from his week long trip in Spain. Maisie couldn’t wipe that smile off her face if she tried!!! She LOVES her Daddy! Maisie is such a freakin’ big girl. She loves climbing into chairs (she is obsessed with chairs) and then just chillin’ there. This is on the patio of a place we have been hanging out a lot at in Roseville. Great coffee (or iced tea with frozen berries if you are me) and great place for Maisie to run around! Same cafe, but different day. Maisie loves bagel and cream cheese. Yessss. Bread and cheese girl, just like her mama…. and every other woman in the US of A! I had to post this…
She’s a genius!
Ok, not really. I know most parents think this about their children, but it is only because we saw them when they were just little blobs of human, not even able to control their little arm movements. Suddenly, they begin to resemble a real person who can do real person type things. The latest Maisie is a real person things are: 1. Sharing her sippy cup with her baby, rocking and patting her baby to sleep. 2. “Reading” other babies (real live babies) books and patting them on the back as to comfort them in a motherly way (see picture above of Maisie and her boyfriend Eli…she likes the young ones). 3. She now points to different pictures in books that she recognizes and is starting to make animal noises when she spots one she recognizes. Elephants are her favorite. 4. When she sees a circle, she says, “ball!”…

We finally got some sun in this rainy Pacific Northwest city! It was glorious! Really, it was. We had the best little quality time as a family together! First we went and hiked to a couple waterfalls. BEAUTIFUL!!! I carried Maisie in the Ergo Baby Carrier (aka: the best baby carrier…IN THE WORLD…forget the Baby Bjorn) and got a good workout! Note to self: don’t go hiking in your Diesel shoes that have no traction with no socks on. Not a good idea. But it all worked out and I didn’t fall! After our hike, we went and played frisbee golf with Nathan. Actually, I didn’t play, but I did push Maisie around in a stroller or follow her around, hoping she didn’t get hit in the head by one of the many stoned and drunk whiskey tango guys out on the course. Good times. Here are a few pictures…

Maisie has been helping Justin make a pedal board (I think that is what it is called). Justin’s latest obsession is his electric guitar and making the most of his allowance by buying new pedals, selling them for more than he bought them, and then buying the ones he really wants. He of course needs something to put all these pedals on, so he is making a board himself. Back to Maisie. She has been obsessed with Justin’s guitar things. Her favorite thing is to sit on his guitar case (perfect height for a little bench for her) or twist the little knobs on his amp. She also likes to mess with his pedals, but that is what he gets for leaving it all out! She is totally into Justin right now and what he is doing. It is pretty cute. When he is gone, she says his name (“dagnee”)…
