Maisers

Frisbee golf pictures and videos (of Maisie of course!)

We finally got some sun in this rainy Pacific Northwest city!  It was glorious!  Really, it was.  We had the best little quality time as a family together!  First we went and hiked to a couple waterfalls.  BEAUTIFUL!!!  I carried Maisie in the Ergo Baby Carrier (aka: the best baby carrier…IN THE WORLD…forget the Baby Bjorn) and got a good workout!  Note to self: don’t go hiking in your Diesel shoes that have no traction with no socks on.  Not a good idea.  But it all worked out and I didn’t fall!  After our hike, we went and played frisbee golf with Nathan.  Actually, I didn’t play, but I did push Maisie around in a stroller or follow her around, hoping she didn’t get hit in the head by one of the many stoned and drunk whiskey tango guys out on the course.   Good times. Here are a few pictures…

Beach Day!

We have been spending lots of time in the basement due to Maisie being sick, so we thought it would be fun to take off to the beach for the day (yesterday)!  We stopped at a restaurant called Camp 18 (totally not my favorite kind of food, but Justin loved it).  It was his great grandfather’s favorite place to eat on his way to the beach, so it was also a bit sentimental for him.  We took lots of pictures just outside the restaurant (and a couple in as well).  Here are a few of our favorites.  *Oh, and we were bummed not to get any pictures at the beach.  It was too rainy and cold to take pictures!  Brrrrrr!  That is what we get for living in a cold and rainy place!* Still our little goo goo. Such a big girl.  She colors. I love her!!! We were both…

Could it really be?!?

This may not be exciting to anyone else, but I have been trying to encourage Maisie to have a “lovey” or something that she can sort of cling to and sleep with and you know, something that is sort of extra special to her.  For Maisie’s birthday, my sister got her a little baby from Target and right away Maisie loved it.  But she didn’t cling to it.  It was definitely one of the (if not THE) favorite toy she had,  Since then she has played with it more than any other toy, but I wondered if this would be the “lovey” of Maisie’s life.  Today, Maisie wouldn’t stop playing with her little baby.  She pushed her around in her little stroller, fed her pretzels and shared her bottle.  As I was putting Maisie to bed, she hugged her little baby (normally, she would throw anything that was in her…

Daddy’s Girl

Maisie has been helping Justin make a pedal board (I think that is what it is called).  Justin’s latest obsession is his electric guitar and making the most of his allowance by buying new pedals, selling them for more than he bought them, and then buying the ones he really wants.   He of course needs something to put all these pedals on, so he is making a board himself. Back to Maisie.  She has been obsessed with Justin’s guitar things.  Her favorite thing is to sit on his guitar case (perfect height for a little bench for her) or twist the little knobs on his amp.  She also likes to mess with his pedals, but that is what he gets for leaving it all out!  She is totally into Justin right now and what he is doing.  It is pretty cute.  When he is gone, she says his name (“dagnee”)…

We Love Co-sleeping

Justin and I love Maisie cuddle time!  As you may know, we have co-slept from day one with Maisie.  There is a long story behind why, but I will give you the short version.  I first totally thought co-sleeping was super hippie and I would never do it.  Until the first night Maisie was born and the only time she would sleep was when she was lying right next to me or nursing or both.  I also had an epidural headache and it as super difficult to keep lifting her into my bed from the little plastic bed she was sleeping in.  It all started there. It continued five days later when we were at home.  I loved our cuddle times and was too scared to put her in her crib for fear that she may stop breathing.  When I did put her in bed, I was up every 1/2…

She looks so sweet and innocent.

But let me tell you, looks can be deceiving!  Maisie is at an interesting age right now.  Don’t get me wrong, there are so many wonderful things that I LOVE so much!  She does this super cute thing where she reads to herself out loud.  She also shares cookies, bottles, and other snacks with her dolls.  One of my most favorite things is that we have our own little language and we speak it to each other!  Maybe one day I will try to record it.  It is hilarious.  Some wise person once told me that, “Everything changes at one.”  Man, were they right!  Bedtimes are hideous!  Flights are just sick and wrong (for the most part, luckily the last one was great), and she actually has an attitude now!  That is what shocks me the most!  I never thought that my sweet, precious, innocent little Maisie would ever throw…

Pictures! Pictures! And more Pictures!!!

We finally uploaded pictures from our trip and my birthday.  Here they are! So we stopped in Denver, Colorado for a few weeks to visit my sister and her family!  Here are some pictures to prove it! Amy and Jason (and their kids, of course) are moving to Portland soon and Amy and I are already getting started on dressing the girls in similar clothes!  So dumb!  I am not sure what Avery thinks about our great idea, but from the look on her face, I think we can all say, she is ecstatic!  Justin and Jason spent lots of time doing who knows what on their computers together.  And for some reason, they always wore beanies and athletic pants.  It was really cheesy and precious all at the same time. The cousins LOVE each other!  Ethan was so sweet with Maisie and played Star Wars light sabers with her! …
