Maisers
Polka dot dress, sunglasses and cute Bandna hat!
Here are a couple pictures that were taken after a staff meeting last week. I will be posting a new photo album (FINALLY!!!) of our time in Prague. Come back and check it out soon!!!! She loves this dress….or we do! Just a little family picture for your pleasure! Maisie tried on her first pair of Ray Ban sunglasses. She almost bought them, but they were 65 euros. She will have to do some more cleaning around the house to earn that much change. Thanks for my cute hat Bandna! Sorry this picture is blurry!

We have been waiting for Maisie’s exersaucer to arrive and it finally did today!!! YAY! Maisie loves to stand, so it is a good thing we have this! Thank you Grandma Christine for sending this and saving my mommy from holding me all day long when she really just wants to blow dry her hair!!!

I know…two posts in one day…it’s a miracle! I HAD to post this though!!!! Today Maisie said her "first" word. Now, I know that she has no idea what this first word means, or that it is even a word, but she said it! I have read that most babies will say "dada" before "mama". Not this baby!!! She is a mama’s girl all the way!!! She was yelling, "Mama," as she sat propped up on our bed today. Yay! It almost made me cry! So silly for me to be so excited for something that she didn’t even understand, but I am! Yay Maisie!

I am beginning to wonder what a summer in Europe will look like with a baby. It is easy enough to layer layer layer, but how do you make her cool when air conditioning doesn’t exist except in grocery stores? The other day was a hot one. I think it was probably in the upper eighties. We were hanging out in a packed French apartment with about ten kids and their parents. It was a bit chaotic…to say the least! Poor Maisie didn’t know what to do with herself with all the noise and heat. She was probably the most fussy I have seen her. I think it was more the heat than the noise, since she has been around lots of noise since her birth. So I went out yesterday and bought her little tank top onesies and a little sippy cup to put water in. I will also…

Cozy cozy cozy! Maisie LOVES to nap in our bed! She’s already been to Notre Dame! Having a little girl is so much fun! She loves her stroller rides! She also loves her headband that keeps her hair out of her eyes… Justin and Maisie at our favorite cafe called Place Verte. It is sooooo great to be able to sit outside in the beautiful weather! Paris in the spring is the best!!!!

We had a WONDERFUL experience today! We stood on American soil! Yes, we went to the American embassy to get Maisie’s passport. Let me just say, I think we had culture shock at the embassy. The people helping us were actually HELPING us!!! They smiled, explained things nicely, and were just all around happy people to us! Yes, they could have been faking it, but that’s ok! I was thankful for the smiles. Most of all though, I was thankful for the timely manner in which we were helped. We were in and out of that place in about half an hour! I think if it were at the French embassy (no offense Frenchies!!!) it would have taken at least three hours. No joke. Here is Maisie being proud to be an American! They gave her an American flag…to poke her eye out.
Read MoreCrocs
Our friend Nancy brought Maisie some little miniature Crocs (they are actually Airwalk brand because Crocs don’t make them that little). I don’t really think Crocs are that cute and definitely not flattering in the least bit, but they make great around the house shoes and Maisie looks SO cute in them! I have worn these Crocs out a couple times and I was a bit shocked at some of the looks I got from the women here. It was very obvious they were talking about my shoes! They do look pretty funky, not small and dainty like most women’s shoes here! The funny thing is, Crocs are starting to get more popular here. I haven’t actually spotted a French person wearing them, but I have seen them in the windows of some of the young trendy stores in the Marais. I wonder if they will actually be bought!
