This blog is the story of life as I went from a world traveling pastors wife to a home-schooling mom of 4.

dancin’ to dad’s rockstar grooves

By Jen | July 14, 2006 | 0 Comments

I love being married to Justin.  One of the things I love is how he just sits in the living room and plays guitar and sings.  It is fun and makes me feel like I am married to a rockstar.  Ok, not really, but I still like it a lot.  It is funny because as soon as I came into the living room where he was singing and playing guitar the baby started kicking like crazy.  I would like to think that it was one of it’s first dances to Justin’s music.  Fun.  Justin is going to be such a good dad.  Oh!  Justin has had the opportunity to play in a band in Paris (that wasn’t in a church gathering) a few times.  Here are a few pictures!  Justin was able to play in one of the hundreds of bands around Paris at the Fete de la Musique, which…

“Shame on you”

By Jen | July 11, 2006 | 3 Comments

I have a big mouth sometimes.  As we were walking home from a fun dinner out with a bunch of friends, we all spotted someone tagging (writing in marker) all over a beautiful building.  It is so weird to see in Paris and I am sure will be cleaned up by tomorrow sometime, but I hate to see people make ugly something so beautiful.  Anyways, as he proudly walked away I said, “Shame on you.”  Yes, I did.  I said it lightly, sort of joking, thinking he would probably not understand.  Well….he understood.  He responded with some F-bombs saying something about how he dislikes the government here.  Oops.  Double oops because we were SUPER CLOSE to our apartment when I said this and he was with about five other people!  So of course they all have to stop RIGHT by our apartment to go into the little store downstairs from…

Finally a picture of my pregnant self!

By Jen | July 6, 2006 | 4 Comments

I thought I should finally put up a picture of my pregnant tummy, so here it is!  I was four months pregnant when Justin took this picture and that was two weeks ago.  The last couple days people have started smiling at my stomach as I walk down the street.  People have even commented on me being pregnant and congratulating me!  It makes me feel so proud to carry this little baby!

I actually blogged about SPORTS (ew)

By Jen | July 1, 2006 | 3 Comments

France is a funny place.  The people are so proper and for the most part, serious.  Not tonight.  As the France football (soccer) team JUST beat Brazil, people are celebrating throughout the streets in France.  Paris has exploded with horns honking, people screaming, people cheering as they drive by in their car waving the French flag, people climbing historical statues, lighting fireworks and well, you get my point.  Tonight Paris will party like it’s nineteen ninety nine.  Tomorrow things will go back to "normal" and once again, I will see the same people who were smiling and cheering at me while walking down the street tonight, not even glance my way, unless it is to see what shoes I am wearing.  Interesting, huh?

Extreme Pregnancy

By Jen | June 27, 2006 | 2 Comments

I am hungry and I am hungry NOW!  I need to clean and I need to clean NOW!  I have to go to the bathroom and I have to go NOW!  Everything is so extreme right now.  Do I blame it on the pregnancy?  I think so.  I used to get annoyed when pregnant women blamed everything on pregnancy, but it is true.  I can relate now.  It is the pregnancy’s fault.  I told my mom that the first thing I am doing when this baby comes out is give it a spankin’ for putting me through what it has. Acne, discolored skin, nonstop peeing, loss of appetite, hunger, gas, nausea, extreme fatigue, food restrictions, paranoia, unstable emotions and oh the list goes on.  But don’t worry, I do love this baby SO much!  I am getting used to the alien kicks and I worry if I don’t feel them…
