This blog is the story of life as I went from a world traveling pastors wife to a home-schooling mom of 4.

I Ran Into a Pole!

By Jen | May 13, 2006 | 5 Comments

I am normally a very clumsy person.  I run into things ALL the time and get ridiculous bruises from who knows what clumsy act I have just committed.  Yesterday as I was walking down the street with our friends (Dennis and Karen) who were in town, Karen was telling me the most hilarious poop story ever.  Sorry, but that is really what it was about.  I was so into the story that I was looking at her, shocked at what she was telling me, not watching where I was going and SMACK!  I ran my FACE right into a pole and it was LOUD!  I had been walking at a pretty good speed and it literally stopped me in my tracks!  There were about five or six people in front of us that all turned around because of how loud it was, not to mention that couple behind that saw…

Our first picture of Turkey Jr!!

By Jen | May 10, 2006 | 4 Comments

As you can see we had our first picture taken of our little turkey today!  The internal ultrasound experience was everything I expected it to be.  Undressing in front of the doctor and Justin, not understanding barely anything of what the doctor was saying, and walking half naked to my little table/chair thing that is in the same room as the desk.  These were all things I had expected (thank goodness).  It was all very interesting… to say the least.  Americans are so modest (me included!), but I think I handled it all quite well.  If you just pretend to know what is going on and act as if you are comfortable, it isn’t so bad.  I almost forgot how awkward it was once I saw the baby!  SO CUTE!  It was amazing to see the heart beating and the hands waving and the legs kicking.  How beautiful.  Justin cried! …

“Ooooh baby, baby its a wild world”

By Jen | May 9, 2006 | 1 Comment

Sometimes I like to sing for fun.  Not in a real pretty singing voice, but joking around.  I can’t sing, so I might as well joke around with it.   Today I started singing for Justin the Cat Stevens song, "Wild World".  It was stuck in my head from the breakfast place we ate at today.  They were playing nonstop Cat Stevens.  It was wonderful.  Anyways, as I start singing in my woman/opera/joking voice Justin just sat looking at me with a smile on his face, all curious like.  After I was done singing he says, "I am both amused and concerned that that could be the first song our baby ever hears."

Pee Shy at the Doctor’s

By Jen | May 3, 2006 | 4 Comments

Justin and I are in the  bestest of moods today!  I had my second doctor’s appointment today.  It was actually just a little blood taking and urine peeing.  There is a lab just down the street from us, so we headed on over this afternoon.  I knew that I would have a urine test, so I purposely drank a lot of water (so I thought).  The lady at the front desk (who also took my blood) was SO VERY nice!  She let us stumble through our broken French and was very patient with us.  It is a whole other deal to communicate in medical terms!  She brought me back to the back room, while Justin waited out front.  Everything was normal as she stuck the needle in and began drawing blood.  I think she took about six vials of blood.  I am being tested for the works.  All STD’s and…
