This blog is the story of life as I went from a world traveling pastors wife to a home-schooling mom of 4.

A little update

By Jen | December 13, 2005 | 0 Comments

I love it here! I am in Huntington Beach right now and it is sunny! Yesterday I went to Disneyland with my sister Amy. We wore tank tops! I can’t help but say that I wished I lived here. Yes, I know that God has us in Paris and I am okay with that. I just really do love it here. I am one of those cheezy people that LOVE sunny southern California! I am not writing much on my blog because I am catching up on 10 months of not seeing my nephew and niece. I am having so much fun with them! Avery doesn’t really talk to me in the mornings because I think I scare her with my good looks! Ethan loves me always though. Such a sweet little guy! I think Avery is just shocked that I no longer live in the computer over instant messanger…

Feeling down….or not?

By Jen | November 23, 2005 | 0 Comments

I know that I JUST wrote about what a great day I had here, but feeling down was bound to happen sooner than later, right? That is how it always seems to be. Things are going great and BAM! You are sad. I won’t hold you in suspense any longer for why I am down. Maybe you don’t think it is a big deal, but I do. My sister Amy is having Thanksgiving at her house for the first time ever and my mom and little sister Kylie are there. I’m not. That pretty much sums it up. Sometimes it is just really hard to be so far away. My niece also had her 2nd birthday this month. I pretty much broke down and cried hysterically because there was no way of being there. I love my family so much. I have missed almost half of my niece’s life. I…

A Wonderful Day in Paris

By Jen | November 22, 2005 | 0 Comments

Thought I would update on my wonderful "I love Paris" day yesterday. I would have to say that it was pretty much my favorite day here so far (minus the times that family has visited). First of all, I successfully traveled to a new destination on the metro all by myself! On the way to meet my friend, Sherilynn, I got hit on. That can always boost your spirits! I met Sherilynn at a hotel by the U.S. embassy (you can’t stand in front of the embassy). We went to the embassy because her husband works there. Yes, I stood on American soil and it was wonderful! We could even walk on the grass! France doesn’t let you walk on grass. It is strange. Then we went to the embassy grocery store, which is pretty much a small grocery store full of American products. I hate to say this, but…

Husbands are weird creatures

By Jen | November 22, 2005 | 0 Comments

Seriously. I know I don’t need to say any more than that, but I am going to. I just looked at Justin’s blog (link to it on the right of my blog) and he has a wish list. Oh yes! A wish list! A wish list for Christmas. I asked him to put together a Christmas wish list for my family who never know what to get him. Oh he basically went above (too far above) and beyond (WAY BEYOND) what I was asking for. He posted it to his blog! Silly little crazy Justin! He has a link called, "Wish List", that will take you right to his amazon.com wish list where with only a click of the mouse you can purchase Justin his present. Not only that, but on this list Justin can keep track of what has been bought for him. STOP THE MADDNESS!!! It is times…

J’aime Paris!

By Jen | November 21, 2005 | 0 Comments

Today I love Paris. It is freezing and I still love it! It is so beautiful! Even though it is only 37 degrees, I am really enjoying the weather. If you know me at all, this is so unlike me. It has been super fun to just bundle up and continue our lives exactly like in the summer! We still walk to school. We walk to the grocery store. We walk to our friends. If it rains we just take our umbrella! Sometimes I have to wrap my scarf around my face to where I can barely see in order to stay warm! It is so fun though! Everyone wears black here. I didn’t notice as much in the summer, but now that it is winter it is as though people are mourning not having warm weather. All the clothes in the windows of shops are all black. Even at…
