Some Random Thoughts.

Today Maisie proved her womanhood.  She rolled over.  Twice.  Actually, we got it on video twice, but she did it three or four times.  This is how I know it was on purpose.  She is such a little stink stink.  We met up with some old friends (well, old for Paris) today and Maisie got a good cuddle in.   I miss these friends.  Their work called them to Africa, so they are far from us now!  They were my fellow West Coasters (as in, California).  Seriously, I love you East Coast, Southern friends, but there is definitely a difference!!!  Maisie will not be respectful and refer to people as "Mr. or Mrs."  Sorry, I am just warning you all now!  Hee hee hee.  She will also probably say, "frick" at the young age of two.  It could possibly be her first word.  We will see.  My nephew used to say,…

HAIR!!!!

There is hair everywhere!  I can’t handle it.  I just can’t!  I am in the post pregnancy stage where one begins to shed their hair.  I am scared I am not going to have any left if it keeps falling out at this rate.  It is everywhere.  In the bathtub, on the bathroom floor, living room floor, well, on every floor!  I also find them in annoying places, like wrapped around Maisie’s little hand.  I am scared one will get wrapped around her neck and strangle her during a nap.  Ok, not really, but I swear these hairs have a mind of their own finding themselves in all sorts of places.  I have never been much of a shedder.  My friends in college, now THEY were shedders.  No offense girls if you read this!   But seriously, they would shed something that looked like a dead mouse.  Ew.  Mine is still…

Maisie Made Me Cry

Today Maisie made me cry.  She has the power to do that sometimes.  After she was nice and full from eating, I just sort of cradled her in my arms (which she isn’t letting me do much anymore now that she is a big girl) while I looked around on the internet.  I thought maybe she had fallen asleep because she was so still and so I looked down to find her staring at me.  As soon as we met eyes, she smiled the biggest smile ever.  It made me giggle as well as tear up.  Sometimes I think she knows how much she is loved, but I doubt it as I never knew how much I was loved by my mom till Maisie was born.  The weird thing is everyday I think I couldn’t love her anymore than I do that day, then the next day rolls around and…

more maisie info…

I love Maisie more and more everyday.  She is doing all sorts of fun new things.  She LOVES to lay on her play mat and swat the toys above her.  She squeals and carries on little conversations with them.  It is hilarious!  She also loves to eat her hands.  She tries to stuff her whole fist in her mouth.  Justin swears she rolled over and I sort of believe him because she did hit her head (from rolling over from her tummy to her back), but I sort of think Justin secretly helped her a bit.  She also loves to stand.  She is so alert and wants to be watching the world around her.  When laying on her back she struggles to sit up.  I think she is going to be a busy one and I will definitely have to work hard to keep up with her.  Maisie had an…

chubby chubbertin

Why do I stuff myself to the point of sickness???  I have these freakin’ twenty pounds to lose from the baby (but I am only aiming for ten as I don’t mind keeping on a few for the baby till I am done nursing) and it is not helping when I go butt crazy eating everything in sight!!!  I was doing so good until I had one little mess up day.  Justin and I decided that because we walked around Paris and back a few times that we deserved a cheeseburger and fries from the little burger stand around the block.  And yes, I told the guy to put the fattening hamburger sauce on it as well.   Yum. I got to chatting with the burger guy while Justin was out buying diapers and we somehow managed to carry on a conversation in our broken French and English.  I was actually…

Make a Wish

Staring at us in the eye for one and a half months now, has been a wishbone from our turkey on Christmas day.  It began to blend in with the rest of our kitchen items on the windowsill.  I think we pretty much forgot it was there.  But a couple days ago, Justin realized it was there as he was cleaning off the counter.  (on a side note, that is pretty disgusting that we just had a BONE on our windowsill that long…sick!)  "Hey, let’s make a wish!" I agreed, as I had a lot to wish about during this time in my life.  A lot to wish for. As we each grabbed a side, we took a second to make our wish.  When we were good and ready, we then pulled our sides and SNAP!!! The winner of the wish was………no one.  It broke at equal parts and the…
