Feeling down….or not?

I know that I JUST wrote about what a great day I had here, but feeling down was bound to happen sooner than later, right? That is how it always seems to be. Things are going great and BAM! You are sad. I won’t hold you in suspense any longer for why I am down. Maybe you don’t think it is a big deal, but I do. My sister Amy is having Thanksgiving at her house for the first time ever and my mom and little sister Kylie are there. I’m not. That pretty much sums it up. Sometimes it is just really hard to be so far away. My niece also had her 2nd birthday this month. I pretty much broke down and cried hysterically because there was no way of being there. I love my family so much. I have missed almost half of my niece’s life. I…

A Wonderful Day in Paris

Thought I would update on my wonderful "I love Paris" day yesterday. I would have to say that it was pretty much my favorite day here so far (minus the times that family has visited). First of all, I successfully traveled to a new destination on the metro all by myself! On the way to meet my friend, Sherilynn, I got hit on. That can always boost your spirits! I met Sherilynn at a hotel by the U.S. embassy (you can’t stand in front of the embassy). We went to the embassy because her husband works there. Yes, I stood on American soil and it was wonderful! We could even walk on the grass! France doesn’t let you walk on grass. It is strange. Then we went to the embassy grocery store, which is pretty much a small grocery store full of American products. I hate to say this, but…

Husbands are weird creatures

Seriously. I know I don’t need to say any more than that, but I am going to. I just looked at Justin’s blog (link to it on the right of my blog) and he has a wish list. Oh yes! A wish list! A wish list for Christmas. I asked him to put together a Christmas wish list for my family who never know what to get him. Oh he basically went above (too far above) and beyond (WAY BEYOND) what I was asking for. He posted it to his blog! Silly little crazy Justin! He has a link called, "Wish List", that will take you right to his amazon.com wish list where with only a click of the mouse you can purchase Justin his present. Not only that, but on this list Justin can keep track of what has been bought for him. STOP THE MADDNESS!!! It is times…

J’aime Paris!

Today I love Paris. It is freezing and I still love it! It is so beautiful! Even though it is only 37 degrees, I am really enjoying the weather. If you know me at all, this is so unlike me. It has been super fun to just bundle up and continue our lives exactly like in the summer! We still walk to school. We walk to the grocery store. We walk to our friends. If it rains we just take our umbrella! Sometimes I have to wrap my scarf around my face to where I can barely see in order to stay warm! It is so fun though! Everyone wears black here. I didn’t notice as much in the summer, but now that it is winter it is as though people are mourning not having warm weather. All the clothes in the windows of shops are all black. Even at…

Skin “ish” in Paris

Why me? God keeps me humble. I will admit that sometimes I think I am pretty darn cute. Yes, I will even go as far to say that sometimes I think I am pretty much a hottie. Since moving to Paris I think God is playing tricks on me. See the picture if you don’t know what I am talking about. If it isn’t feeling fat, it is breaking out in zits! If it isn’t the zits, it is a crazy itchy rash all over my face that looks like little white heads (yuck, I know). If it isn’t the little gross white heads, then it is an ugly boy haircut that won’t even cover up the rash! If it isn’t the ugly boy haircut, than it is this new fun thing called ECZEMA! NO!!!! I never thought that I would have this nasty skin disorder, but it is true!…

Boots are a girl’s best friend!

I am excited! I just got back from one of the most beautiful places ever! The mall. Galleries Lafayette! Right next to the opera! It is gorgeous! It really is an amazing place. Not only is the building stunning (inside and out), it is OH SO classy! Decorated to make you feel like you’re in a movie. I love feeling like I am in a movie! The decorations were amazing and I am bummed I didn’t take pictures. There is a huge Christmas tree right in the center of the mall. Christmas lights everywhere! I will definitely go back and take a picture so that you can all see how gorgeous it is. Today made me LOVE living in Paris! One of the best things about this visit to the mall was I got new cute boots. I know it is pretty dumb to write about something new that I…

French School Shmench School!!

Is it so wrong to hate school? I have always hated school for as long as I can remember! When I was in elementary school I didn’t know the tricks of faking sick. As I started junior high, I was pretty much becoming an expert. I learned to fake bloody noses, fevers, throwing up, cough, sore throat, stomach ache, period cramps (sorry guys!). You name it! I faked it! As I started high school, I learned to fake my mom’s signature. I was so proud of myself too because she has such amazing handwriting. I no longer had to fake sick, because there was no way she would find out! I was a sick and twisted young girl! I skipped school around 50 days a year. No joke. You can see my report cards! We won’t talk about how I passed my classes. That is a whole other story of…
