Maisie’s First Little Friend

Something I am going to miss the most about Northern California is Julia.  Of course I am going to miss my own friends for my own selfish reasons.  I freakin’ love my girlfriends here!  They make time for me and include me into their daily lives like I have never been away.  They get me.  They love me.  They understand me.  They know me.  And JUST as important is that Maisie has a little friend here that she loves just as much as I love my friends!  As much as she possibly can anyways!  I have never seen two 1 1/2  year olds play so well together.

Maisie will run up to Julia’s house squealing in excitement!  She will poke her eye with such enthusiasm as she yells, “EYE!”  She will dance with Julia, hold hands with Julia, sit and play with Julia, pose for photo shoots with Julia, play hide and seek with Julia, kiss and hug Julia.  Julia is her best friend.  They do everything together (even eat sushi together…not really raw fish, calm down).

So I am going to miss Julia for Maisie.  It is one of the things that I have to grieve as we are getting ready to move back to Europe.  Julia.  I love Julia as much as Maisie loves her.   And I love her mom and her dad too.  This is the hardest part.  Here are some cute pictures we took of them at our little sushi place that we love!

such sweetness, those little girls. (in one of those pix, i’m pretty sure maisie is swinging her leg, ourada style. the blur indicates it :-). it’s precious that maisie has interaction with julia because it’s obvious that she’s so comfy with her. how fun to watch maisie’s personality grow and change. she’s such a little nugget! AND i love that you have dear friends close to me jen…it keeps you around a little longer.

Why are you making me have the ugly-girl-cry-face in my living room at 10:00 in the morning while I read your blog!!! My love for Maisie mirrors yours for Julia. There is just something so sweet and feminine about their little relationship and how they are learning to be a friend. ( Julia has learned not to “play the drums on your friends head”, Maisie has learned to “forgive”… haha) The holding hand pic’s are so precious!

You freakin’ Powells are so addictive. You and Justin were fun to begin with and now you have this little ball of beautiful joy that just adds to the mix. You will be missed greatly! Love you.

These pictures are so precious. Thanks for sharing them with us all! Maisie is growing up to be quite the little charmer. She looks like she’ll be a great little friend for others. I just saw her today and I think she remembered me! Yippee. She even warmed up to “Papa George” before too long! 🙂
