Maisie is a helper
Maisie has always loved helping me. When we lived in Portland, one of her favorite things to do was help with the laundry. She actually still loves it and now I find all sorts of things in the washing machine. A lot of the washing machines are front loading in Europe, so they are at just the right height for her! Lately though, laundry hasn’t been enough for little gooby. She wants to help with MORE! So I have given her the chance to help in the kitchen! She LOVES it! Her “responsibility” has been helping with the salad. At first, I was a little peeved at the size of lettuce bits she was tearing off, but then I thought, “WHO CARES!?!?” Isn’t it better for her to help and be a part of something then the lettuce bits to be just the right size? So now every time I am making dinner, Maisie is right next to me helping with something. It’s actually pretty fun and being the extravert that I am, I love the company! Here’s a little video of her helping me with the salad one of the first times ever.
This is totally adorable. It was worth the five minute wait to download it. She is such a great helper. Having boys, I didn’t get this luxury! you have a cute kitchen.
Whoa Ann! That was fast! I literally JUST posted this! Does it take a long time for my page to download?
That is so precious! I can’t believe how fast she is growing up. 🙂

I LOVE IT! Not only is she a helper, but she is helping make healthy food! Eliza only knows how to make cookies and brownies 🙂 I love your teeny tiny little kitchen!
i love how you and justin incorporate maisie helpfulness into such tangible ways. such a great way to make things fun and make her a part of what you’re doing… she is so adorable and a great little lettuce leaf tearer! i love her!
oooof! That big piece of lettuce would have made me have anxiety! That is sooooo cute! We had a pre-packaged salad from Trader Joe’s that Avery put together last night. She felt so responsible adding the croutons and leaves and cheese bits and dressing. And then mixing it. I need to get the kids more involved in the kitchen. It’s good for them! Maisie is so cute! As soon as I told the kids there was a video of her, they dropped the game they were playing to come check it out. I love that they love her so much!
