French Braids
Would you believe that Maisie’s hair is long enough to French Braid!?!? This last week Justin, Maisie, and I packed up our things (once again) and headed over to our friends house to stay with their kids while they went on a little trip. They have a little girl who is almost 12 years old and she asked if I would braid her hair so she could sleep with braids in. So of course I agreed. After finishing her braids, and being pretty happy with my work, I decided to go Little House on the Prairie style with my own daughter. I felt like a true “missionary” braiding Maisie’s little hairs into these little woven braids! haha
So anyways, I’ve been French Braiding it up since that day, trying new little versions so as to make her not look so much like she belongs on a farm, working the fields and gathering water from the well. And believe it or not, she holds pretty still while I work my magic. Although she does say an “Ow!” here and there! Oopsy! I’ll have to work on that one!
there is nothing sweeter than a mama french braiding her daughter’s hair. oh i loved doing that for you and amy! there is a innocence about the ‘getting the water from the well’ farmgirl look. nice job jen!
That is the cutest thing! I love the little curls on the ends of the braids. Even though we can’t see her face in the picture she looks like a big girl with her farmgirl hair.

That is so cute! I still don’t know how to french braid! Even though you would think that with all the times mom did ours, I would know by now. I remember never quite getting the hang of it like you did.
