Vomit two days in a row!

The last two days have been drama with the kids!

We had a fun little couple date night planned for Friday night. The kids were all going to go to a little program that their school offered for parents to have a kid-free Friday night (and Maisie was okayed to go as well). I was a bit nervous of how she would do because of the jet lag and more transition, but my hopes were high as I am in desperate need of some time with adults. So I braved it and left her.

Not a good idea. Not a good idea at all. We made it to the sushi restaurant and ordered our food and right then is when we got the call. I watched as my sister’s face turned from annoyed to shocked to concerned. I knew exactly what had happened. Amy grabbed her purse and we both headed out, leaving the guys to eat sushi without us. Before she could even tell me, I said, “Maisie threw up?”

Maisie has this thing that she does where she cries so hard she makes herself vomit. It is not pleasant in the least. So of course we had to go pick her up. When I arrived, she was standing there with vomit all over her pajamas. Poor little nugget. Got her changed really quick and headed back out to our “date night.” Maisie ended up falling asleep on the way to the restaurant, so I just held her the whole time. Not two minutes after we got back to the restaurant we got another call. This time it was Avery. She had started crying when I picked up Maisie and hadn’t stopped. Bummer. So we headed out to get the other kids and put them to bed and tried to make the best of it all with a little ice cream and Survivor.

Here is a picture of the little date night ruiners! They look so sweet and innocent!

THEN for some crazy reason I thought it a good idea to go shopping with the kids yesterday, as I needed some new jeans. I thought that it would be great as they would just play with each other. Not so. We ended up getting the girls candy to munch on while we shopped around to find the perfect pair of jeans. Let’s just say, Maisie ended up choking on a lego candy and once again, vomiting everywhere, all over herself.

So the last couple days have shown me something important. The first thing is that Maisie could possibly have little spikes for teeth one day from all the acid in her vomit. I also learned that I need to do more kid friendly things when with KIDS. Imagine that! No more shopping with kids.

We still made the best of it all and are having a lot of fun together, with or without puke. Here’s a picture of me with my bff and sister from the first night where we attempted a date with our husbands!

that all just puts one huge damper on a fun date night. i do have to ask…is avery really sleeping? maisie has the ‘i’m asleep, limp and don’t even think about waking me up’ look, and avery looks a little more like ‘i’m a beautiful princess and am lovely’ look 🙂

That story is my life lately, too. I took the 2 cousins & Julia to the mall for “fun & shopping”- try more like keep them near me to avoid holiday baby snatchers and not get annoyed at the not so helpful 6 year old…haha. We will do a date night in Sac, okay? PS- you must dress up that hot again!
