Maisie is TWO!
I seriously can’t believe that Maisie is two already. I hear parents say this same sort of thing about their own children, but really, it is true. It goes by way too fast! This last year went by even faster than the first! Where did the time go!?!
Unfortunately, I wasn’t feeling too well on her birthday, but we still made the best of it. She woke up to us singing her happy birthday on video! Excuse my morning singing voice. I already sound like Cameron Diaz on My Best Friend’s Wedding, but then add the whole morning aspect and well, it isn’t a pretty sound!
Maisie then opened presents from family (except not us) and watched birthday ecards!

Then we went out of for lunch (which she slept through) and then out for a hot chocolate (which she barely drank, but did eat little cakes w/whipped cream) and then on to Madagascar 2 (which she barely watched)! I hope she still had a fun day! I was so out of it! Poor nugget!
The lady working brought Maisie TWO little cakes with whipped cream. So nice!!
We had to cancel her party because I got even more sick. It was supposed to be tonight. 🙁 I’m really bummed about it all as I know Maisie would have had a blast with her friends (even though they are all at least ten years older than she is)!
Yesterday Maisie opened her presents from us (yes, the day after and I don’t know why as we had them the day before). Let me just say how hard it is to buy a present that either has to fit into a suitcase to haul around with you for the next two and a half months, or pack away for the next few months. So we got her things she could take with her now. We really had been planning on getting her a bike as she is OBSESSED with bikes, but because of this whole move, that will have to wait till we land back in Europe!
So this was our present (her little outfit, along with some dvds). Justin insisted on also getting the tiara and wand)! Her skirt is huge on her, but hey, it will last longer that way!
As you can see, Maisie doesn't understand that she is supposed to be sprinkling fairy dust with that wand, not using it as a walking stick or putting it down her skirt for safe keeping (like the previous picture shows)!!
Ooooh! Little Honey’s video made me and Jason sigh. I am so excited to see that little nugget. Her hair is out of contriz in the morning! That is hilarious! I love the little ballerina outfit. Are those horses on her shirt?
I just finished her Christmas present shopping. I didn’t get her any clothes though. How can I buy American clothes when you have amazing European clothes? I don’t sink so.
oh yeah…one more thing. Just assume that Avery’s old princess bike is hers k? We can even bring it to Mom’s or something if we can get it up there. Don’t buy her a bike and don’t have anyone else buy her one. Just take Avery’s. I just need to get her a helmet. 🙂
Ah Jen. The video. I agree with Amy….a sigh. There is something so precious about your family. Makes me miss her. I love when she said “bye bye”. Can’t believe she is two and CAN’T wait until she is a big sister. She’s going to be so good at it!
That hair at the end of the video gave eric and I a good laugh! She is so beautiful.
AHHHHHH! She is sooooooo cute! I LOVE the video…and well, Eliza is obsessed. She knows Maisie is coming back now and I think she has anxiety about it or something. She gets all wigged out whenever Maisie comes up…runs to the door looking for her, wants to call her on the phone, wants her to come play with her toys, AND she wants Maisie to “cuddle in my big girl bed?” I CANNOT wait to see her AND you AND Justin too!
