We Have Arrived!!!
So yes, we finally made it to Hungary!!! The journey was exhausting. Maisie did quite amazing if I do say so myself! Of course I did spill both a Sprite and a water everywhere as soon as we got on our long flight from Chicago to London, but that was really the only drama on the plane! Maisie slept great for the first three hours of the flight. Then yes, with a little help from Benadryl, she slept even longer!!! She is doing a great job getting on schedule!!! I am actually sitting next to her right now as she naps. She is such a little trooper!
The biggest drama during our trip was when we finally arrived in London. (By the way, why does the English accent make everyone look and sound way cuter and smarter than maybe they really are?!!?) Anyways, we got to London and found that the people in Chicago did not put our gate checked stroller onto the plane!! NOOOOO!!!! Then with all that drama going on, the lady helping us find where the stroller was realized that the person who booked Maisie’s paper ticket (have to have a paper ticket for a baby when traveling internationally) didn’t book it all the way through to Vienna. Just to London. So we had to pay something like 75 pounds (or 150 dollars) to get it! I CRIED! Right there at the desk in London! The people were so nice to me and I apologized and they told me not to. It was nice. So we had lots of drama with flying American Airlines and will try not to do that again unless we have to. They were not so helpful or competent in their jobs. Sorry, but true!!!
The conference is going great. I can tell I am growing up a bit because I actually could care less if I miss out on something. I find it a relief to be able to just sit with Maisie in the room while she naps. We have an important meeting tonight that I hope will give us a bit more direction in life! If that is even possible! 🙂
Here are some pics from our travel drama!
For the first times ever, Justin would hold Maisie during takeoff. Almost each time I think! They would flap their “wings” as the plane took off and be so proud of themselves that they made the airplane fly. It was pretty cute.
This is a dumb picture, but the only one with all of us in it. Oops, Maisie isn’t even in it all the way!
Maisie diid such a great job entertaining herself! We had so many layovers and each time, she was happy to get back on the plane!
We are adjusting from the time change and jet lag and all that good stuff. Our stroller arrived last night (YAY!!!!). I will give an update about the conference later!!!! My computer is going to die and I don’t know where my European charger thing is!
Glad you guys made it safe and sound! Your flight(S) sounded like they could have been a headache – but now you’re there, so it was all worth it.
We’re excited to hear how things fold out for you guys…
First of all, your hair looks soooo cute!!! 🙂
And second – I’m so glad Maisie did so well on the plane!
I miss you already, but I’m so excited for you guys!! Have fun!
Hi Jen!
I’m so glad to hear that your safe and sound. It was great meeting you and Maisie while you were in Portland. 🙂 I look forward to hearing all about your adventures in Europe on your blog, as well as seeing cute pictures of Maisie. Your all in my prayers.
‘big sigh’ I can’t even tell you how excited I was to see a post!!! When I realized I couldn’t call/text/etc with you anymore, it all became real 🙁 So, this makes me feel like it is going to be okay. I am SO glad to hear that your travels went good and you made it safely to your first stop. Eliza was happy to see some new pictures, and your hair is so cute! Funny story real quick: We were downtown last night on the waterfront and Eliza saw a guy pushing a stoller exactly like yours (Maclaren) and ran over to them yelling “MAISIE!!” First of all, she’s a genius to recognize the same stoller! Second, it brought a tear to my eye that she wasn’t going to see her little friend sitting there. Okay, enough of that now…keep posting so I can pretend you are not so far away. I love you!!!! xoxoxo
your hair is really, really cute!
Hey Jen! oooooh. I miss you! I see those pictures and realize I’ve been too busy since you’ve left and then there’s this hole in my heart. (oh yeah…all mushy). I’m so glad the flight went well and that Maisie did so well. Her little half face laugh looks just like yours! That first picture of Maisie and Justin is so incredible. It’s those eyes! I love your haircut too (and mine…everyone likes mine :-).
That shirt Maisie is wearing is AWESOME! That is so cool you guys let her outside with that on.
Your hair is sooo cute! who cut it??!! Glad you all got there safe. These pictures made me miss Maisie like crazy. (didn’t mean to rhyme…dumb). I miss you all already! COME BACK TO ME…I’M BEGGING YOU PLEEASE, COME BACK TO ME….I WANT YOU TO (to be sung of course)
The English…they do know how to lay the charm on thick with their accents, and in my experience most of them are actually as intelligent as they seem. It can be rather intimidating. 🙂 So glad you made it all in one piece and that you’ve been reunited with your stroller!! Can’t wait to hear more!
I’m glad you arrived and all is well. Have a great conference! Wish we were there!
Hi Jen! I always love checking in every now and then to see what you guys are up to! I am glad you guys made it safely and that Maisie did so well. I don’t think our boys could have handled being cooped up that long – ha, ha! Thanks so much for keeping us all updated!! Take care!!
Hi Jen,
So glad to know you guys made it. We felt so good about being able to see you guys in Denver before you left. We are praying for you.
love nancy and ken
Thank you for the wonderful pictures!!! You’re a doll to keep us connected with what’s going on in your life. We miss you SO much. We are praying for you every day — even when we were in Africa! Maisie is getting so big. The video with Ella is hilarious. We have laughed and laughed. We’re heading out to Bend on the Harley for a few days. Talk to you later!
Help a Spanish speaker out…what does Maisie´s shirt say?
Maisie’s shirt says “Ah, those crazy English! I guess their accents sometimes make them cuter and smarter than they really are, but generally they are wonderful warm human beings”. True – Maisie told me herself.
