Fun in the Sun!

It has been sunny wonderful here!  We have been pretty busy doing fun things with the kids!  We have spent the last couple days outside.  Today we celebrated Ethan’s birthday early (since we won’t be with him on the day of).  It was a surprise for him and it was a lot of fun! Here are some pics and a video (because Justin requested a video specifically of Maisie)!   This is right after Ethan and Avery realized we were having a party.  When we started singing happy birthday, Avery was so happy and dancing thinking it was her birthday.  As you can see, she had just found out that it was a celebration for Ethan.  Really, she is a sweet little thing.  High drama, just like her mom and aunt!!! Kylie and Ethan! Grandma with her two granddaughters.   Maisie enjoying a little In-n-out for lunch. Amy and Ethan…

“What are you doing?”

If you would like to see a day in the life of my family, take a look at this video. It starts out with my niece Avery and one of her little drama tantrums and ends like The Sound of Music (well, sort of). We took this video last night at a baseball game. Good times.

Reunited with family

When my parents divorced and my dad moved away, we saw a lot less of my dad’s side of the family.  Well, now that I am an adult (yes, I am) I have realized how much family means to me, even if they weren’t really there during all of my childhood.  I have a new love and respect for my dad now that I am married and have my own child.  My dad’s side of the family is nowhere near perfect, but what family is?  I had a lot of fun at my grandma’s 80th birthday party, reuniting with family I hadn’t seen since I was a young girl!  Here are some of my favorite pics from the party: Happy Birthday Grandma!  Who ever knew she had siblings?!?  I met them for the first time at her party. Everybody’s got to have an Uncle Fred!  Oh yeah!!!!  He is hilarious! …

She’s a genius!

Ok, not really. I know most parents think this about their children, but it is only because we saw them when they were just little blobs of human, not even able to control their little arm movements. Suddenly, they begin to resemble a real person who can do real person type things. The latest Maisie is a real person things are: 1. Sharing her sippy cup with her baby, rocking and patting her baby to sleep. 2. “Reading” other babies (real live babies) books and patting them on the back as to comfort them in a motherly way (see picture above of Maisie and her boyfriend Eli…she likes the young ones). 3. She now points to different pictures in books that she recognizes and is starting to make animal noises when she spots one she recognizes. Elephants are her favorite. 4. When she sees a circle, she says, “ball!”…

Frisbee golf pictures and videos (of Maisie of course!)

We finally got some sun in this rainy Pacific Northwest city!  It was glorious!  Really, it was.  We had the best little quality time as a family together!  First we went and hiked to a couple waterfalls.  BEAUTIFUL!!!  I carried Maisie in the Ergo Baby Carrier (aka: the best baby carrier…IN THE WORLD…forget the Baby Bjorn) and got a good workout!  Note to self: don’t go hiking in your Diesel shoes that have no traction with no socks on.  Not a good idea.  But it all worked out and I didn’t fall!  After our hike, we went and played frisbee golf with Nathan.  Actually, I didn’t play, but I did push Maisie around in a stroller or follow her around, hoping she didn’t get hit in the head by one of the many stoned and drunk whiskey tango guys out on the course.   Good times. Here are a few pictures…

Family visits and Easter egg decorating

My mom and little sister just left today from a nice little weekend visit. We definitely did not get enough time!!! AND I am so annoyed to say that we only got ONE picture of my mom!!! WHAT THE HECK!?!? It snowed here during their visit, which was crazy weird. Snow!?! I thought it was beginning to warm up! Are we in Paris again??? Here is a picture of my me, my mom, and Maisie looking out at the snow. Here is Kylie. She is a crazy lil’ sis! And while I am at the pictures, here are a couple from our Easter egg decorating extravaganza! Yes, it was more for me than it was Maisie. Justin and Maisie were actually quite bored, but I think they got more into it once they saw how fun it was! 🙂 Or maybe they just faked it for my benefit!

Beach Day!

We have been spending lots of time in the basement due to Maisie being sick, so we thought it would be fun to take off to the beach for the day (yesterday)!  We stopped at a restaurant called Camp 18 (totally not my favorite kind of food, but Justin loved it).  It was his great grandfather’s favorite place to eat on his way to the beach, so it was also a bit sentimental for him.  We took lots of pictures just outside the restaurant (and a couple in as well).  Here are a few of our favorites.  *Oh, and we were bummed not to get any pictures at the beach.  It was too rainy and cold to take pictures!  Brrrrrr!  That is what we get for living in a cold and rainy place!* Still our little goo goo. Such a big girl.  She colors. I love her!!! We were both…
