I love you more when we live in Europe
Ok, that title is not very nice, but there is a bit of truth to it. So maybe my love for my husband isn’t actually stronger (well, maybe a little), but I like him a lot better when we are in Europe. Is that wrong? Stateside Justin is fabulous, but a bit lost. He can get a bit more cranky for some reason and blow things out of proportion and be a bit unrealistic when it comes to certain things. This sounds so horrible, but it’s not meant to be! It is just that Justin really fits better with the culture here, and maybe therefore, is just a better person here. Is that possible? Maybe it is just that when your husband is living out a dream or feeling fulfilled in his job, he is a happier person. I don’t know. All I do know is that I love the…

I am so happy to finally be getting on with life. For some reason, while I am in transition, it feels like I am paralyzed and can’t possibly have a routine (not that I like them anyways) or meet new people or do anything really outside my comfort zone. It is almost like I just have to survive and for some reason, that is good enough for me. I’m not saying it is the right thing to do, but it is the way I naturally function. Now that we have arrived in Spain I feel like I can get on with life again. I have been so happy to meet new people and start making friends. Just today I visited with two different women that I met at the park Maisie was playing at. They happened to be “on holiday” and not living in Barcelona, but I chatted with them…
Read MoreHighlights from our trip to Paris
We had a really fun time in Paris, seeing our friends, walking around our old neighborhood, and visiting our favorite parts of the city. The last time we were in Paris was last February and it was a very difficult trip for the both of us, so it was sooooo nice to be able to enjoy the city with our old friends without having to deal with any real ISH (issues, in case you have forgotten). There ended up being a bit of drama before we left and I had to take the train by myself (Justin’s flight was cancelled from Barcelona to Amsterdam, so he just met me in Paris). I managed fine thanks to my friend Jeanie! The train was 40 minutes late though and they kept announcing it would only be five more minutes. So I waited and waited and waited OUTSIDE while it was snowing (but…

Read MoreDate Night
Justin and I had our first date night since returning to Europe! It was soooooo fun spending time with just us two and doing things we normally wouldn’t have done. Here are some things I did that I normally wouldn’t do on a daily basis (if ever): 1. We went to a movie!! We both really didn’t like it at all. It would have been fine if we went out to the movies all the time, but what a waste of our one movie a year we go to!!! If you have a chance to see ONE movie, don’t see Burn After Reading! Ew. 2. I put on fake eyelashes!! Katie and Bandna, you would be proud. It took me FOREVER to get them on right. And taking them off hurts like a mother. Justin didn’t even notice, but I did keep pointing them out to him! 3. I…

My freakishly amazing husband wrote a sweet little post on his blog that you should read. He’s back in Paris for a couple days and he talks about walking around our old neighborhood there. I just think he is wonderful. This post touched me, maybe just because it means so much to me, but I would love for you all to read it if you get a chance! Here is the link!

So I realized that I actually took WAY more videos than pictures while in Barcelona. Pooey. But here are a few pictures from our time in Barcelona and Valencia. I am in the process of uploading videos from the trip, so I will have to post those to my blog in the near future for all to see who want to see! Overall it was a great trip to Spain! In Valencia we found a pub called Portland! It is owned by two Americans (one of them is actually Spanish, but grew up in America)! We stayed up the last night there and chatted with them till past midnight! We had a really great time in both cities for different reasons. Videos to come! Ok, ok, I will post ONE video right now. Here it is! The first day in Barcelona as Maisie waited for Justin to bring ice cream!
