Maisers
Constipation…cha cha cha!
We had a lot of ish going on in the Powell apartment yesterday. It started off with Maisie choking on a teething biscuit. Let’s just say it was a scary ordeal. She ended up throwing up into Justin’s hands, but thank goodness that is the worst that happened as far as her choking goes. She was constipated all day long, pushing so hard, tears were forming her eyes, hysterical cries as she tried so hard to poo. It is the worst to see your child in pain…even if it is just a bit of constipation! I have eczema again and it itches like a mother. I can’t stop itching, which is making it all crusty and nasty, but I can’t stop. It feels so good when I am itching, then just burns and it hurst worse when I am done. I didn’t post last night because our blog service was…

Something interesting that I have noticed with Maisie is she doesn’t smile all the time like other little goo goo babies. She is very serious. I am not saying she never smiles, but she won’t give you the polite little smile just for giving her a pleasant look. I think she wanted to fake me out yesterday because I came into the room and caught her in the act of drawing on a fake smile. Who does she think she is trying to fool me like this?

I just love the canals in Amsterdam! I love the little cafés along the canals! Everyone talks about the cafés in Paris, but I think the ones in Amsterdam are just as great, if not better! I love their warm drinks! Yum! Here are a couple typical pictures of the canals. In the second picture you can see a little café right on the water! I also have to say that I love the buildings. They are all so different, so much different looking than Parisian buildings. I Meet Laina! I have talked a lot about Laina, but not so much on my blog. Anyways, we love her and Phil and their children. Speaking of children…here is Maisie with their oldest daughter Chelsea.

So I ended up sleeping about ten minutes last night. For some reason I never am able to sleep the night before we are going to travel. It didn’t really help that I started packing at 1am and needed to wake up at 4:30am. EW! I ended up finally just getting out of bed at 4:20am for the day! EW!!!! I hate not getting sleep! The train ride was long. Well, four hours to Amsterdam. Maisie did amazing. Never cried. Just let me know when she was hungry or wanted a diaper change. She was tired as well since she is used to sleeping in along with me, so she was passed out on my chest for a good portion of the ride. I even slept for about thirty minutes! I am so thankful we have an easy travel baby! Here are some pictures from our train ride today! I…

Our friend Andrea (who moved to Paris the same time we did and lived here for three months) was in Paris for the day and we were able to meet up for a coffee at Place Verte and then she came over to see our apartment. This picture sucks and Maisie’s head is turned around, but oh well! You get the point! So George and Ann (Justin’s parents) got in yesterday! They flew into Paris on their way home from Uganda and will be here three days! We are having a great time with them! It is so great for them to see Maisie and for Maisie to get to know them! By the way, George isn’t really wearing a necklace for real! I put that around his neck so that Maisie would maybe take to him a bit better. She is a bit shy around men for some reason. …
