Maisers

Picture of July 8th

I completely forgot my camera today when I left the apartment.  I was so annoyed because as soon as I walked outside I knew that I had forgotten it.  Justin and I were on our way to a church event and because  we were the ones that were leading this worship time, I couldn’t go back up and get it!   It was cool because for our monthly worship time we met at Les Halles, which is basically a huge mall in the center of Paris.  We all met in a little outdoor area (sorry for not having a beautiful picture to give you a visual) and Justin gave a little talk about worship and how there are lots of ways to worship, including serving.  Then with the money that we would have normally used to rent the church building, we split up into groups, split up the money and were…

More pictures from now on!

Hello everyone!  I was just looking at my sister’s blog and was inspired and motivated to start posting more pictures.  I was talking with Justin and thought about doing a Flicker account where I post a new picture everyday, but decided against it as one blog is enough for me.  I already have to keep up with Myspace too!  I don’t want too much on my plate!  I was worried that people would be overwhelmed with something new on my blog everyday.  Maybe some will, but too bad!  If you are lame like me and check other people’s blogs every day in hopes that they wrote something new, you will appreciate my desire to “blog” a bit more.  So a picture from today???  Shoot.  Maybe I will start that tomorrow!  In the meantime, I will catch you up with some of my favorite pictures from the last couple weeks! Justin…

Ice, Ice, Baby…..do do do do do do do do.

Tonight we went to an AMAZING Moroccan restaurant!  Seriously, if any of you come to Paris, you must ask Justin (not me because i am horrible at directions) where exactly this amazing restaurant is!  Jill, if you are reading this, we are going there when you and Sean get here!  SERIOUSLY DELISH and a great atmosphere!!! On to why I am posting this.  Maisie was really hungry on our way home from the delish restaurant and started to get really fussy.  For some reason Justin doesn’t know ANY little kid songs.  I don’t think his family was into musicals and nerdy song things like mine was…no offense mom, it was nerdy.  But fun!!!!!  After trying to entertain Maisie with one of my childhood favorites…something about a king with a big nose ring…I decided to bust out a little Vanilla Ice so Justin could join in.  Somehow I sitll have most…

baby pain

Last night was hideous. I don’t really mind the lack of sleep, but it drives me crazy when Maisie is in pain. I think she may be teething. Before her last feed we laid on my bed and chatted about our day. It was a sweet little time…until she burst out screaming high pitch screams. She refused to eat and would have nothing to do with anything, except the mirror in the bathroom. It is literally the ONLY thing that calmed her down. If I would walk out the bathroom the screams would begin. So I spent about two hours last night in the bathroom in front of the mirror with a crying (on and off) baby. I finally called my mom to pray and called my sister for some practical advice. Maisie finally ate and passed out from the numbness of her gums and the drugs flowing through her…

Ten Hours

That’s right. Maisie slept ten hours last night. This makes me sad for some reason. I know I should be ecstatic that I am finally able to get a looooong stretch of sleep, but no, I am sad. I miss our little cuddle times in the middle of the night. She has always been a good sleeper with stretches of five hours straight from the beginning. We started Maisie on solids and she is also sleeping in her big girl crib now. She is such a big girl (six months yesterday!!!). So big in fact, that she can now sleep these long, I don’t need mom, stretches! The first night she slept about seven hours, the next night eight, and then last night was ten straight hours between feeds!!!! My little baby goo goo is growing up!!! I had it all planned that I would put her in bed for…

Nobody Knows Her.

Today I am feeling a bit sad that most all of our friends and family have never met Maisie.  She is such a part of who we are now and it is strange to think that some of the people we love the most have either never met her, or only seen her for a week or two.  This is the part of living so far away that I really don’t like.  But what can we do about it?  Nothing I guess, except post pictures and videos and hope that you get to know her a bit through that.  She is such a delight and adds so much more joy to our lives!  We wish you could be a part of her life and love her and smother her the way you would if we all lived close!  …..Just some “I miss home” thoughts for today….

Justin Gets Back Today!!

Justin has been gone in Spain for a five days on a research trip with our organization. He called me the night he arrived to tell me it looked like Southern California with all the palm trees. I did not take this news well as I was looking out at a rainy Paris neighborhood. I was happy for him to be there, but bummed that I couldn’t be enjoying the sun with him! Maisie and I had a fun girls nights together. We watched movies, invited friends over, pigged out on junk food (she did too in a way I guess), and played fun girly games…you know, like peek-a-boo. It was a fun time to have just us, but I think we are both ready to see Justin again. We both missed him. I always lay in bed for my last feeding with Maisie and Justin is always sitting next…
