Music to My Ears
I am sitting upstairs in the huge home of Phil and Laina’s, just fiddling around on my computer. Justin is downstairs with Maisie playing the piano. Justin is playing these deep and loud keys flowing together to become a pretty song. I was beginning to worry where Maisie was while Justin was so into his piano playing. Just then I heard the random high pitch keys banging. It actually sounded quite pretty along with Justin’s playing and brought a smile to my face. I love my little family! *sorry if the piano terms I am using are incorrect. I am clueless when it comes to music*

We had a great week at our annual staff conference! Here are a couple highlights (or at least pictures) from the week. I pretty much didn’t think about taking pictures till the last day. That is always how I am. So here are some pictures! You might notice that each picture from that last night of staff conference was taken by me! Go go gadget arm! 🙂 These are two girls I love!! In the middle is Chelsea, whose home Justin and I are staying in in Amsterdam! She however, is off to California for college! 🙁 Then on the right is Katherine! Katherine is one of our best friends who was on the team with us in Paris! Katherine and I always have SO much fun together and laugh at anything and everything we can, especially Justin!! Sarah! I always look forward to hanging out with Sarah at…
Read MoreWe Have Arrived!!!
So yes, we finally made it to Hungary!!! The journey was exhausting. Maisie did quite amazing if I do say so myself! Of course I did spill both a Sprite and a water everywhere as soon as we got on our long flight from Chicago to London, but that was really the only drama on the plane! Maisie slept great for the first three hours of the flight. Then yes, with a little help from Benadryl, she slept even longer!!! She is doing a great job getting on schedule!!! I am actually sitting next to her right now as she naps. She is such a little trooper! The biggest drama during our trip was when we finally arrived in London. (By the way, why does the English accent make everyone look and sound way cuter and smarter than maybe they really are?!!?) Anyways, we got to London and found that…
Read MoreTo Benadryl or Not to Benadryl, That is the Question
The question is right in my title. We leave for Europe on Saturday from Denver and it is going to be a long flight!!! We leave in the morning (U.S. time) and arrive in the afternoon (Europe time) the next day. Basically, we need baby goo goo to sleep. I am thinking if she can sleep on the plane she will adjust to the time difference better and not have jet lag so bad. I am highly considering Children’s Benadryl. I just got done reading parents personal opinions on the Baby Center website. They say I shouldn’t use this and it is drugging my baby for no good reason. Shoot. I maybe would have thought that when she was under a year, but she is almost two now. Besides, is it for a good reason if it will help her adjust to the time difference better? I would love feedback…
Read MoreFrozen Berries
Maisie’s most favorite summer snack is frozen berries! She eats them probably every night. We have to strip her down to just a diaper because she makes quite the mess with them!
Read MoreFourth of July in America!
We had a very fun and very American Fourth of July! I had such a fun day. It was nice being in America on such an American holiday. For the last few years we have been in France during America’s Independence day and I must say, it just isn’t the same. I sort of just took it all in, knowing that it would most likely be my last celebration of this holiday in America… for a while at least. I loved every part of what we did, down to the hot dogs and snow cones. It was all just so much fun!!!!! And of course, here are some pictures from the day. I will start off with a picture from a little photo shoot of Maisie modeling the red, white, and blue dress that Mimi (Justin’s grandmother and Maisie’s great grandmother) bought for Maisie! We went to a park…

This video was actually taken a couple weeks ago on our way back up to Portland, but I wanted it to stand alone, instead of putting it in a post with other pictures and videos. Maisie was bored to tears at the end of our long car ride, so this is what she did to entertain herself.
