Random update and thoughts

Because I haven’t written in forever, I’m going to give a quick update of our life.

-I am now 24 weeks pregnant (which is about 5 1/2 months) with a little boy!

-We’ve been waiting for Maisie’s visa to be approved so we can leave for Spain (a little later than our original thoughts of being there the end of July).

-While we wait we are staying with my sister and her husband and two kids in their living room on air mattress and couch.

-My roots are beginning to show like crazy and I am looking pretty whiskey tango (an important to me topic).

-I have no idea where I will give birth in Spain and this brings a little bit of anxiety to the mix.

-Maisie is supposed to start school in Barcelona in September, but we might have to hold off on that so she isn’t dealing with so many transitions at once… new country, new home, new baby brother, etc.)

-I have no idea when we will be able to leave the country.

Something God spoke to me today at church is that we forget we are on God’s agenda. Sometimes we actually just ignore it and say, “here is my agenda, what do you think?” When really we should maybe ask, “Hey, what would you like me to do today?” I know this is simple, but it really stood out to me. Justin and I have been so focused on GETTING TO SPAIN that I wonder what we’ve been missing in our every day lives here.

So this is a random post, but it’s a quick update so when I am ready to begin writing on here again, I won’t be SO behind!

THANK you for writing. I’ve missed you!
What a great reminder for ALL of us who claim to be living for Christ: we are living for and in HIM, not the other way around. Thank you, and we will be praying for God’s perfect timing and His perfect peace as you wait in HIM.

Jen…I just now found this (on your very unusual looking blog…I miss the picture of you :-), and wanted to celebrate with you that God has waited for the perfect time to show you His agenda. Even though you’ve not been able to understand the delays, His ways are not our ways. I admire your ability to tough it out and rely on Him. You make me proud. I love you.

You know, Jen, I am so inspired by you! I appreciate your commitment to honest posts – the good, the bad, and the ugly! You have given me such a real view into the reality of missions today. I thank our Lord for you and your courage to serve Him & have a baby in yet another part of the world! Thank you for the mission updates, we continue to pray for the Maisie’s visa. Luv, The other Jen P 🙂
