Fish Eyeballs and Other Stuff

Who ever knew I would actually be okay eating a fish eyeball? Certainly not me! I did it tonight for the first time in Barcelona. I don’t know the name (and at the moment I am too lazy to try and find out what it’s called), but it was a plate full of teeny little whole fried fish. Crazy!!! The funny thing is that Maisie LOVED them! She was eating them like they were candy! She was totally into them until about the fifth one. That’s when an eyeball got stuck on her front tooth and I laughed about it and pointed it out to the table, where there was gagging and gnashing of teeth. Well, not the gnashing of teeth, but there was gagging. After that, she didn’t want anymore. She went on to eat shrimp. I swear this kid is a better eater while in Europe than in…

Private Settings

Because I am in now in “Amerca!” or (America…United States of) I have become paranoid a little. There has been a little “incident” that has caused me to rethink posting pictures of my precious little nugget on my blog. So with that said, I am going to start password protecting some of the posts of Maisie for a while (if not forever). If you would like to know this password and you are not a psychotic freak show, please go ahead and email me or leave a comment. I have to let you know though, I will not give you the password if I don’t know you (unless I run a background check..jk…sort of). Hope this isn’t too big of an inconvenience for my friends and family out there!

Grandpa Ourada!

I have the best grandpa ever! I really do. My grandpa has always been the type of guy who would get on the ground with us kids and play with us. He was always so fun and would do crazy stuff, just to tease us. I remember a few different funny things in particular. One time my grandpa ate dog food, trying to talk me and my sister into eating it as well. It didn’t work. But seriously, he would eat anything (and still does as long as it is soft enough for him to gum it.. he refuses to wear his dentures). Anyways, he has just always been so fun and so sweet.  Maisie and I took a trip to visit my grandma and grandpa yesterday and stayed the night. I wasn’t sure how Maisie would react to them as they are getting older and grandpa doesn’t wear his…

Home, what is it?

Tonight was one of those nights where it sort of just sucks to be a parent. Not because Maisie was a pain in the butt, or because I was feeling selfish (like I often can feel). Tonight sucked because I had no idea how to comfort my little girl.  Maisie has been sick for the last few days with a stomach flu so she has been a little more out of sorts than normal. Besides that, we are STILL in transition. We haven’t really had a “home” since she was nine months old. We had some make-shift places we called home for weeks at a time, but never went over two months in the same place. As you can imagine, it is starting to take a toll on our family. I can especially see that in Maisie. I think now that she is two, she is appreciating more of a…

Still here!

I’m still here! I know I haven’t been on the blog, but lots has been going on! I never seem to find the time to blog when I am with my family! Everything sort of gets forgotten when the important things are happening! So here is the latest of what’s been going on here! 1. I am obsessed with the Twilight book series. I know it is about vampires and I know it is technically for “young adults” but I like it anyways, even if the people in the book are still in high school. I love you Edward. 2. After we left southern California, we headed up to Northern California and nine of us (YES, NINE!!!) all stayed in my mom’s two bedroom home in the middle of the woods with only one car. That part was a bit difficult. I don’t like feeling trapped, but at least I…
