Blog Fart
Justin commented to me today on how I haven’t written on my blog for a while. Well, the truth is, I am having a blog fart. Get it!?!? Like brain fart, but only it is a blog fart?!? Man, I think I am so funny sometimes. I honestly couldn’t wait to type the letters to the name of this title. So, speaking of fart, I had a little family reunion yesterday with my dad’s side of the family. It was actually my grandma’s 80th birthday. It is always an interesting time with that gang! I am going to post pictures of the party as soon as I have time to upload them. Probably tomorrow in between cleaning and packing. Just wanted to let you all know that I am still here. VERY busy these days! Justin is going to Spain for a week and I am going to California. At…

Hopefully you won’t be seeing any pictures of me with this hairstyle for quite some time… I got a haircut today! If you have been reading my blog for a while now, you know that I have had some mishaps in the hair department. Well, today my good friend Andrea cut my hair. It hadn’t been cut since my last fiasco in Paris and I just have to say that I was so thankful to get rid of that cut! 2 1/2 years in Paris, France and not one good haircut!!! How can this be?!? I lay awake in bed pondering how such a thing could happen in one of the most fashion conscience cities in the world. I just don’t know. But all I do know is that I have a cute haircut once again. I was really beginning to lose hope that I would ever feel cute again.…

(I think I should preface this post by stating that I started my period yeseterday. Yuck. I hadn’t had one for over 19 months and all of a sudden…. I am a woman again… emotional and all.) Home is such a weird word. What does it really mean? Is it really “where the heart is” or is it something else? When I lived in Paris I would refer to home as my apartment or back in the states with family. Now that I am in the states, I am missing my home in Paris I am not only referring to my little apartment (although I do think that is part of it), but more to the streets I would walk everyday on my way to meet a friend or get a baguette or buy groceries. I am referring to the walking down the metro steps to catch a metro to…

I have tried to think of something creative to write about, but nothing is coming to me. The only thing that has come to my mind is the fact that my fat itches when I jog on the treadmill. I wonder why this happens. My friend Karen explained that it is because that part of my body is now getting circulation, whereas it never used to. She says that it will go away once my fat is used to the circulation. I sort of just think that it is jiggling so much and that is what is making it itch. Whatever it is, I don’t appreciate it. I also don’t appreciate the way it looks jiggling all around like crazy. Praise the Lord for women only sections at gyms. Seriously, I will praise the Lord for that.

Hello, hello, hello! It has been way too long! I really haven’t had internet at all here in Virginia. That’s right, I am in Virginia! Anyways, I now have internet at Mimi’s (Justin’s grandma) and it is glorious! Here are some things I have noticed about Virginia. 1. It is beautiful! Fluffy trees. I love the fluffy trees! 2. Boys have cute little accents just like on the movie The Notebook. I have to admit, it can be sort of sexy. Justin can do a great southern accent and I have asked him to use it more often…if you know what I mean! 3. People say, “I reckon.” 4. Friendly people who call Maisie “doll baby.” 5. Racism is still very real here. 6. Justin has wonderful family who I am so thankful for!!!! 7. They have sweet tea at every restaurant. 8. People talk about their cars or trucks…

Don’t do it. We finally decided to go to a movie after nine months of movie theater deprivation and learned our lesson. Enough said.

You know you all do it. The French do it in public. Americans do it in private. My family does it for fun in public and for real in private. My little sister sent me this picture of all of us a few years back. I love my family and can’t wait to see them in just a week! It is sad to leave Paris, but I am totally looking forward to our time catching up with family and friends! YAY! So the picture! Oh how things have changed! Blond hair and tan? Who do I think I am? From left to right: me, my nephew Ethan, my older sister Amy, and my little sister Kylie.
