Update on apartment and hospital

So today was pretty much a wonderful day!  Justin and I woke up early to sign all our papers on our new apartment, wrote huge checks, and then in return, we got our keys!  It is now officially ours!  Well, it is officially rented by us anyways!   We are so excited!  Here are a couple pictures.  I picked these two pictures to show because they show two of my favorite things in the apartment!  The arched windows and then the HUGE bathroom.  Ok, maybe this isn’t huge for you Americans, but this is quiet monstrous for a Parisian apartment.  I LOVE that it has a bathtub!!!  This picture is looking into the living room from the entry way. Our bathtub!!! After we got our keys, Justin and I went to lunch together and during lunch, we received a phone call from the hospital (right next door to our new apartment)…

Little Fuzz Head

We had our final ultrasound this last Thursday.  It was so exciting to see our little girl!  She is still a girl!!!  We had the tech make sure and he said with his strong French accent, “Steel a gurrl.”  Phew!  We have so many girl clothes that I was worried she would turn out a he!  Everything looked great and the tech said she was healthy!   She is in her head down position, which explains the hard bump I feel above my belly button (her booty) and the legs that like to rub against my ribs and give me difficulty breathing. She is averaging normal (50th percentile) in everything except two things.  Her legs are in the 90th percentile!  And her abdomen is a bit small, but the doctor said that was fine.   She is going to be a tall one we think!  The doctor measured her weight at 2.1…

I have sleep on the mind…

Sleeping is interesting these days.  All I really want when it is time to go to sleep is to get cozy and fall asleep.  I don’t remember the last time I was cozy.  This information would horrify my brother in law Jason because he loves being cozy.  He is the one who has inspired my love for coziness.    Not only is my sleep interrupted every couple hours by needing to use the bathroom, but then it is a chore in itself to get up and out of bed.  I mentioned this in an earlier post, but I literally have to roll out of bed.  Oh and those wonderful leg cramps.  Charlie horses, if you will.  Yes, they wake me up when my need to urinate doesn’t.  It is lovely, isn’t it?  Then we have the apartment search that has been on my mind.  All day long we search for…

So Very Tired…and other random things

These days, I am just plain tired.  I want to write about something so that my readers know what is happening in my life, but there is nothing new. No apartment yet.  I cried again today.  You know when you were a kid and something bad happened at school?  Well, all of a sudden you see your mom, who is picking you up from school and you burst into tears.  You held those tears in all day long, but the sight of your mom, brings comfort and safety to just cry them all out.  Ok, that was how it was for me anyways.  That is how it was today.  I thought I was doing fine, till I talked to my mom on the phone.  "How are you Jen?,"  she asks so innocently.  And that is where I lost it.  Thanks, mom.  After the tears I did feel a bit better. …

Something Sad

Today was just one of those days.  Tears and lots of them.  First of all, we have been working super hard to find a new place to live (only two weeks till we have to be out of here) and the competition is crazy for an apartment.  The demand is definitely higher than the supply when it comes to apartments in France AND we are competing against French couples, which makes it that much more hard.  I know in my heart that it is only God that will get us an apartment, which is so true, but it is still hard to remember.  So I was reading a devotional book that someone gave me last Christmas and it was talking about a missionary in Africa that had to move six times in three months due to things like her house burning down.  Wow, puts things into perspective, eh? I just…

Pregnancy YOGA!?!

I have been wanting to try pregnancy yoga for a LONG TIME now!  Well, only about four months (since I knew I was pregnant).  Today, I was finally able to try it out because we now have a VHS/DVD player.  YAY!  I was so excited to do it!  When the video started I began to laugh a bit and had Justin come in to see the woman with her hair wrapped in a turban type thing and talking so smoothly and calmly.  I have other yoga dvd’s that aren’t quite so "spiritual" so I wasn’t too worried.  I sat in my little crossed legs position ready for the exercise to begin.  The lady began with rubbing our hands together and then repeating different chant type things.  I got scared!  I really did get scared.  Maybe this is me being naive, or maybe it was something evil.  The first chant had…

I’m feeling HOT HOT HOT!

I never thought the words would come out of my mouth, but I have to admit it.  I wish it were cooler.  I think I may actually be looking forward to winter.  YIKES!  I know in January I will think back to when these thoughts crossed my mind and think I was crazy for saying them, but for now, it is true.  It is so hot here!  I talk to my friends and family in the states and they are dealing with weather over 100 degrees and here I am at nearly 100 degrees, complaining.  But let me tell you a little difference between heat in Europe and heat in the States.  Two words… air conditioning.  There is none here.  Well, of course there is in the grocery store!  Believe me, I find reason to go there, if of course I can pull my melted body off the chair and…
