Ten things about Virginia

Hello, hello, hello! It has been way too long! I really haven’t had internet at all here in Virginia. That’s right, I am in Virginia! Anyways, I now have internet at Mimi’s (Justin’s grandma) and it is glorious! Here are some things I have noticed about Virginia. 1. It is beautiful! Fluffy trees. I love the fluffy trees! 2. Boys have cute little accents just like on the movie The Notebook. I have to admit, it can be sort of sexy. Justin can do a great southern accent and I have asked him to use it more often…if you know what I mean! 3. People say, “I reckon.” 4. Friendly people who call Maisie “doll baby.” 5. Racism is still very real here. 6. Justin has wonderful family who I am so thankful for!!!! 7. They have sweet tea at every restaurant. 8. People talk about their cars or trucks…

Fun times in Colorado!

We are having a really great time in Colorado with family!  It is amazingly beautiful here!  Enjoy the pix! Sisters! Maisie and Aunt Amy! Ethan and Avery…his hair has lots of static from the trampoline!  We went to a little petting zoo thing up at Copper Mountain.  Maisie loves animals.  She loves to touch them and then put her hands in her mouth.  I don’t like that. Oh Jason…I love my brother in law.  He is the best.  (boop) Ethan is adventurous!  He is such a little polite guy now!  So grown up. Such a typical me look.  Oh!  I am wearing my new wrap that I love!  Maisie loves it too!  Maisie tasted lemon.  She didn’t love it. Amy likes to torture Maisie, just like she used to torture me. Yes, she is the cutest. mmmmmm hmmmmm Maisie loves Avery’s curls…as do I! Drama like her mama.  Oh yeah. …

New Maisie pix and videos too!

I finally downloaded some pictures to Justin’s computer (mine is still crashed!), so I thought I better show off how freakin’ cute my little nugget is!  This was on our way from Vienna, Austria to Sopron, Hungary!  Maisie and I tortured Jeff the whole time.  It was a blast.  Maisie got her cuddle on with Paula!  We love the Farmers (that is their last name)!  They live in Portugal and they are caaarrrraaazzzy!  Maisie ate a cookie.  Bad, bad mom (and dad). She may just be a drummer like her uncle Nate! Packing is fun!  At least for Maisie. I know that Maisie is not smiling in a single one of these pictures, but she prefers to do the serious look while posing for the camera.  To prove that she really is a happy baby here is a video we took today!  By the way, she totally learned to stand…

Highlights from Staff Conference!

Staff conference (now called Connect) was really great this year! Here are some little tidbits about the trip that you should know about! We stayed at an amazing hotel that had swimming pools and beautiful woods and nice rooms and good food and a spa! I didn’t get a massage though because I am still not so comfortable with a man giving me a massage and the woman at the front counter of the spa told me, “Man or Nothing!” So nothing it was. Oh well. Maybe next year. I am glad I chose nothing because another woman got the man and he had her undress in front of him and then didn’t cover her with a towel! This would have been devastating for me (even after all the nudity and exposure of having a baby in France). I had some amazing conversations with new and old friends. We work…

I have hidden talents

We are having a great time at staff conference! We are having lots of talks catching up with friends that we haven’t seen for a year. Today we went into Vienna and did a “Serve the City” type thing (basically where we do lots of service projects around the city). I made balloon animals with a group of people. I actually made balloon animals for a living (well, my first job) when I was fifteen. Somehow, I remembered how to create almost all of the things I could once do. Yes, I was proud of myself. Lame. Anyways, it was really fun. Maisie had a couple meltdowns throughout the day, but did pretty well for the most part. She isn’t used to so many people being around her all the time. Oh wait, she lives in Paris. At least she isn’t used to so many people talking to her all…

We are going to Hungary!

We are leaving to Hungary tomorrow for our annual staff conference. It is always really fun. Well, sort of. Not really, actually. Last year was pretty great! This is our fourth staff conference and I hope that the trend of getting better and better continues! Let me just share what the first two looked like. First staff conference. It was the first time Justin and I had ever been to Europe and on the way over, they gave us free wine. So I had a glass of wine with my dinner. Maybe you don’t think this is a big deal, but it is! I didn’t know that my legs had a tendency to swell on long plane rides (especially with alcohol in the system). So when we arrived at staff conference, my legs were so swollen, that I could press in with my thumb and the indent wouldn’t go away…

I love Barcelona!

That title pretty much sums up my feelings about the city.  It is amazing.  It is warm.  There are palm trees!  People have tattoos and piercings and dreadlocks.  There is really cool art everywhere you look!  People smile!  People of all ages adore children.  It is a clean city.  Tapas!  There is a beach!  A BEACH!  So yes, we had a wonderful time on vacation!  I would go there again and again and again…and again. I missed writing on my blog.  I kept thinking that I wished I had my computer with me because of all the weird things that happened while we were there.  It was great family time though. Here are my highlights of the trip…or at least the highlights you might enjoy reading about. Men with no clothes on:  It is true.  Our happy little family was skipping along (or walking along) the boardwalk when from a…
